GreenPond Gardeners started because a group of friends and keen gardeners on higham hill common allotments in east london - wanted to make a difference to our allotment gardens and our community.

Our Aim is to promote Organic Gardening in a safe and friendly environment, to keep in touch with other like-minded gardeners, where ever you may be, to get together to swap seeds, skills, stories, pictures, recipes and whatever else you like!

Its a good time to get your seed catalogs out for this years crops.

The garden isn't sure if its time or not! But we do. Sitting by the fire (or something similar) with a few catalog's of what you might like to grow sounds quite nice.

Why not grow something you have never grown before? The allotment Shop stock all kinds of seeds, including Franchi - Italian vegetables and herbs. They taste great and look amazing too. The kids will love them.

Its also good time to do your crop rotation chart for this year. Remember, a vegetable plant family shouldn't be planted in the same bed for four years. Simples.

Check This months job's page for more things to keep the restless ones busy.

Its good to be back, I'll leave you now by that heat source and catalog and hope to see you down the cold, wet and muddy plot soon.
